The good old fashioned typewriter.

This week I’ve been working this typewriter print. I liked the idea of combining an old piece of technology with language from modern day technology using the old fashioned method of printmaking.

    1. Thank you! For the registration I use a piece of grey board the size of the paper I want to print on, (usually A4). I then cut out the shape of my lino on the board so the lino sits in the cut out bit to keep it in place. So in this instance I had 2 carved blocks of lino cut to the same shape (the back colour and the detailed top layer) that fit in exactly the same spot. I then need to make sure that every time I lay my paper down it sits perfectly on top of the A4 greyboard. Most of the time this seems to work for me, although I do sometimes have slip ups! I hope this makes sense.
